Taking On The Shell Of Christ

Woman With A White Cross Background

Ephesians 1:3 - we are blessed with all the spiritual riches we could ever ask for in Christ

At Hillsong SF, visiting pastor Robert Ferguson made this point, that we can’t do enough to protect ourselves in this world.

If we are putting on human sized shells, we will still get eaten by the seagulls of life. He suggested that we drop our own shell and take on the shell of Christ. I agree. I notice that even with a very devout mindfulness practice I can get too focused "inside" my self.

By looking upward and beyond ourself to God who is much bigger, we find the protection and connection from a force that is all wonderful and way beyond the pleasantries of the world.
